One notable quirk: the Napa Valley Vine Trail, a paved cycling path, parallels much of the route but is currently incomplete near the Carneros region, so drivers will encounter intermittent farm equipment on the roads. The drive typically takes 30-45 minutes without stops, but the real value is in the journey.
