Yantai to Yancheng: Scenic Highways, Hidden Gems

Leaving Yantai, the G15 Shenhai Expressway hugs the coast for the first 120 kilometers, passing the world's largest offshore wind farm at Laizhou Bay. This 550-kilometer route ends in Yancheng's marshland, where the Yellow Sea and freshwater wetlands intermingle.

Driving from Yantai to Yancheng takes about six and a half hours without stops. The route is worth driving for its dramatic geology: the Jiaodong Peninsula's granite cliffs give way to the flat, alluvial plains of the Huai River basin.
