Truckee to Rock Springs: Epic Drive Across the West

This route covers roughly 750 miles along I-80, crossing the Sierra Nevada, the Great Basin, and the Wyoming high desert. The Donner Party's tragic winter of 1846-47 saw many perish near Truckee; today, the drive is far safer but still demands respect for the elements.
