Thakhek to Kampong Thom: Road Trip Guide

Thakhek, the capital of Khammouane Province, sits on the Mekong River and was founded by the French in the early 20th century. The drive to Kampong Thom follows National Route 12 (AH16) for 340 km, a route that cuts through limestone karsts, river valleys, and farmland.
