When you get to El Fuerte
In northwestern Sinaloa, El Fuerte takes its name from the fort the Spanish built here in 1610. The colonial town, a Pueblo Mágico, prospered as a mining center, and its old mansions still show that wealth. It is also a main boarding point for the Chepe train into the Copper Canyon.
