Service areas are spaced every 30–50 km, including Changxing and Taihu, each offering fuel, food courts, and restrooms. For a more scenic alternative, exit onto the S12 (Shenjiahu Expressway) near Huzhou to follow the eastern shore of Lake Tai for about 40 km, though this adds 15–20 minutes.
