Guilin to Xiangyang Road Trip: Scenic Highways & Hidden Gems

The road from Guilin to Xiangyang traces ancient trade routes, straddling the Yangtze and Pearl River watersheds. It's an 870-kilometer drive that takes around 10 hours by expressway, moving from subtropical karst terrain to the foothills of the Qinling Mountains.

Hidden off-route spots: near Liuzhou, the Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County offers wooden wind-and-rain bridges and an authentic look at Dong architecture. Detour 20 km east of the G75 at Chishui to see the ancient town of Bing'an, known for its well-preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings.
