The most direct route covers approximately 380 kilometers (236 miles) if you take the ferry from Xuwen to Haikou, then continue west on the G98. Alternatively, the fully land route looping through Guangxi and Guangdong extends over 600 kilometers (373 miles) and is not recommended due to ferry constraints.
