Driving Xiahe to Weinan: Route Guide

Begin your drive in Xiahe, a Tibetan cultural hub at 2,800 meters, known for the Labrang Monastery, one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school. The route to Weinan follows G213 and G30, crossing the Gansu–Shaanxi border through the Qinling Mountains' foothills.

Your departure elevation and the Qinling's climatic barrier shape the entire trip: expect a drop from alpine grasslands to loess plateau and then fertile Wei River valley. This is a transition from Tibetan Buddhism to Han Chinese agricultural heartland.
