Primary highways: US-55 south to I-84 east, then I-80 east. Most sections are four-lane divided, with speed limits of 70–80 mph. Boise rush hour (5–6 p.m.) can add 20 minutes; use I-184 bypass if needed. Total fuel cost for a sedan at 30 mpg with $3.50/gal gas: ~$67, with stations every 30–50 miles. The cheapest fuel is usually in Boise and Ogden; plan for higher prices in small towns like Mountain Home (avg 10 cents more).
