The northern segment from Bac Kan to Thai Nguyen weaves through valleys where ethnic minority villages practice traditional terraced farming. The Na Hang Nature Reserve, a detour east of Tuyen Quang, offers pristine forests and lakes, but note it adds 100 kilometers.
